The gap between the mean income of men and that of women has closed over time. Using information from the United States Census, I examined the mean and median incomes from the years of landmark women’s rights legislation. I did not expect the rulings to result in an immediate upswing in women’s income, so I included some “empty” years for comparison. Discussion of the data is on the Income Gap Today page.
